Next Ace Attorney game “Dai Gyakuten Saiban” Confirmed for Western Localization
The next addition of the Ace Attorney series, with working title “Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke no Bouken”, has been confirmed for a western release.
Created by Shu Takumi, Ace Attorney is a series of visual novel adventure games where the protagonist is an up-and-coming lawyer. The first game, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, was released in North America for the Nintendo in 2005. It’s noted for its distinctive “anime” style, pun-themed names, and quirky cast of characters.
The fifth game in the series,
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies, was made available for the Nintendo 3DS via the Nintendo eShop last October. After seeing how much success it has gotten in North America, director of Capcom’s overseas business, Hiroshi Tobisawa, announced that Dai Gyakuten Saiban will indeed be coming over to the West as another Nintendo eShop exclusive.
"The next game is set in 19th century Japan, during the Meiji Era," says Tobisawa. "Although it’s not the sort of setting overseas fans may be familiar with, we are confident that it will be a hit."
Dai Gyakuten Saiban  will be following previous protagonist Phoenix Wright’s ancestor, known as “Ryuunosuke Naruhodou” in Japanese, and is scheduled for a double release in both Japan and in North America in July 2016.
